In Loving Memory
James Arthur Young

James Arthur Young passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, at the age of 82. James was born on April 16, 1944, in Edmonton, Alberta, to Percy and Dorothy Young. In 1974, he and the love of his life, Anna Mae, made their home on the family farm near Holden, Alberta where they
spent 54 happy years building a life together and creating countless memories with family and friends.
James proudly served in the Canadian Army for six years before dedicating his life to farming and working as a mechanic. He was also an exceptional carpenter whose craftsmanship could be found in many projects completed for family, friends and neighbors. A man of many talents,
James was happiest when he was working with his hands, lending a helping hand or sharing his knowledge with others.
Known for his quick wit and warm personality, James never met a stranger. He always had a story to tell, a joke to share and a way of making those around him smile. His kindness, sense of humor and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing
him.
James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is lovingly remembered by his wife and lifelong partner Anna Mae; his son Donald (Rhonda); his daughter Shannon (Nicholas); his sister Dorothy (Gerry); and his many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Percy and Dorothy Young.
In keeping with James’s wishes there will be no funeral service. His family finds comfort in knowing he lived a full and meaningful life, surrounded by those he loved most. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
