Einar Kristian Brandingen of Merna, Alberta, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Camrose, Alberta.
He was born on November 5, 1941, to Kristian and Edith Brandingen.
He married Shirley Faye Olsen on February 13, 1965.
Einar is survived by his children Tracy (Tony) and Karyn (Jim); five grandchildren Ste- vii, Mackenzie, Cooper, Tyson, and Macy; and great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Maddy, and Quinn.
He was predeceased by his parents; siblings John and Jen; nephew Norman; and grand- daughter Leanne. Einar loved his family, his careers in the oilfield and forestry industry, flying, and fast cars. His professional life took him to Vancouver Island for 30 years, where he and Shirley loved living by the ocean.
A Celebration of Einar’s life was held at 1 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2026, at the Burgar Memorial Chapel, Camrose, officiated by Rev. MaryAnn Pastuk.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Einar’s memory may be made to the Merna United Cemetery Fund.
