Brief History of The Lamont Leader

HISTORY: Long-time Alberta weekly newspaper publisher Kerry Anderson founded The Lamont Leader on October 3, 2005 to serve the area in and around Lamont County with a quality weekly newspaper serving LOCAL and relevant content.

Located in the Town of Lamont, The Lamont Leader covers all the rural and urban residents of Lamont County with an estimated 6,000 readers per week between the physical paper and online readership.

In a relatively short time, the Lamont Leader has already won best historical feature story in Canada for its spread on the 50th anniversary of the train/bus collision at Lamont which killed numerous school children, mostly from the Chipman area.

The Lamont Leader is distributed into, and covers news from, Bruderheim, Lamont, Andrew, Mundare, Chipman, Star, St. Michael and Hilliard; all communities within Lamont County.
