Follow up to a heartfelt fundraising campaign led by 10-year-old Kate Bork has exceeded its goal, raising $1,105 for the McDonald family of Lamont as their son, Julian, continues his fight against leukemia.
With help from her mother, Janin, who cleaned and spray-painted the horseshoes, Kate created unique designs that quickly captured the attention of supporters throughout the community.
After the fundraiser was shared on social media, donations also came in from across Canada, the United States and even Germany.
Kate reached and surpassed her original fundraising goal of $1,000 after selling her remaining horseshoes at the Lamont Farmers’ Market, bringing the final total to $1,105.
