The Tofield Handivan Society is seeking casual drivers for the Tofield bus. Applicants must have a valid class 1, 2, or 4 driver’s license, fill out the application form, as well as attain a drivers abstract.
Drivers are needed in order to provide transportation services for community members to get to their important appointments, to the bank, or grocery store. Hours of work will be dependent on booking requests.
Some requests may be out of town appointments, as well as regular Sunday morning church shuttles. This service is vital to many residents such as seniors and community members living with disabilities.
Many residents at Sunshine Villa, for example, rely on this service to get to where they need to be.
“Being handicapped, it is my only means of transportation sometimes. I wouldn’t get outdoors very much without it,” one resident told the Tofield Mercury in a previous interview.
“It gives us something to look forward to with hope and gratitude,” another resident said.
Those who may be interested in a flexible work schedule as well as making a difference in the community should consider applying. Specific onsite training will be provided on bus operations.
