It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Kelsey Jean Price on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the age of 21.
Kelsey was born on May 20, 2005, she was raised on her family’s farm south of Sedgewick and loved the farming life that was such an important part of her childhood, her family, and who she became. She attended and graduated from CHSPS, later moving to Edmonton, where she was completing her final year of nursing at the University of Alberta.
Kelsey was a nurturer. She was kind, vibrant, thoughtful, personable, and cared deeply about the people around her. She had a way of making everyone she met feel welcome and included. She carried a bright light with her wherever she went and left a lasting impression on the many people who were fortunate enough to know her.
Kelsey loved deeply and fully embraced life. She especially enjoyed sports, thriving in softball, basketball, and volleyball, collecting countless memories and milestones with her beloved teammates. She loved her dog, Bear, and all the little things that made her happy – from Diet Coke, coffee, and dirty sodas to fashion, music, and skin care. She had a wonderful eye for detail and a talent for making everything around her feel beautiful and just right.
Kelsey’s caring heart led her toward nursing. She was in her final year of the nursing program at the University of Alberta and had spent the summer working at the Misericordia Hospital. She was so close to completing the education and training she worked so hard toward and beginning her nursing career.
Most of all, Kelsey loved her people. Kelsey will be forever loved and missed by her parents, Jill and Derek Price, and her sisters, Taylor and Emersyn Price and beloved dog Bear. She was incredibly close with her family and never took for granted the time they spent together.
She shared a beautiful relationship with Holden Gwinn. They shared a connection and love that was evident to everyone around them. Kelsey treasured Holden, his family, and the life they were building together.
She will also be deeply missed by her grandparents, Buddy and Wanda Price and Ray and Jean Jackson.
She leaves behind a large and loving family, including Angela Price and Craig Jacobsen, Dayton, Beau, and Graysen; Leanne and Kevin Anderson, Avery and Carter; and Garret and Kristy Jackson, Bennett and Josie, along with many other family members who will miss her dearly.
Kelsey cherished her friendships, both old and new. She remained close with friends from home
while forming new friendships and lasting connections at the University of Alberta. She loved being surrounded by her friends and the laughter, memories, and everyday moment they shared.
Though her life was far too short, she made an extraordinary impact in her 21 years. She leaves behind memories that will be treasured, stories that will continue to be told, and a bright light that will remain in the hearts of everyone who knows her. Kelsey will be loved for a lifetime and missed beyond words.
A celebration of Kelsey’s life will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Killam Community Hall. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live streamed. Details on how to watch will be available on the Fee and Sons website.
If you played on a team with Kelsey, you are invited to wear your jersey as a special way to honour the many memories and milestones you shared with her.
In keeping with Kelsey’s bright spirit, family and friends are also encouraged to wear bright colours or something that feels like a celebration of her, rather than traditional dark colours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Battle River Community Foundation in memory of Kelsey Price.
