Female passenger dead after single vehicle rollover in Strathcona County

On August 13, 2026, at 12:27 a.m., Strathcona County RCMP, along with Strathcona County Fire and EMS, responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover near Range Road 214 and Township Road 524, Strathcona County.

Upon arrival, Strathcona County RCMP determined a lone SUV had lost control on the gravel road and rolled off the roadway into a swampy ditch nearby, landing upright in the body of water. 

The 21-year-old female driver, a 21-year-old female passenger and a youth male passenger were able to exit the vehicle and had advised emergency crews a fourth person was unaccounted for.

Strathcona County Fire & Rescue were able to lift the vehicle from the water and located the 21-year-old female passenger underneath who had suffered life threatening injuries.

EMS rushed her to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

RCMP send condolences to the families and friends of all involved.
