In Loving Memory
Marilyn Evelyn Maertz

It’s with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Evelyn Maertz on July 25th, 2026, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton, AB.
Marilyn’s beautiful soul was surrounded by family at the time of her passing. Marilyn was the daughter of Tormod and Gladys Christenson and was born on May 27th, 1950, in Killam, AB. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Crest Maertz; her three sisters, Carol (Paul) Hnatyshyn, Judy (Frank) Deren, and Margaret Yarmuch; her three children, Roger (Deanna) Maertz, Susan Frederick, and Dennis (Teralyn) Maertz, and seven grandchildren, Jordan, Sheylyn, Keenan,
Jenna, Chance, Adam and Emily.
She was a dedicated and cherished sister, parent, grandparent, and loving wife. She was an active member of the Sedgewick Curling Club and put in many volunteer hours at the Good as New. She was a lifeguard and instructor at the Killam Pool for many years and had a passion for
her work at Forestburg Greenhouse and Lougheed Gift and Garden. Marilyn’s bubbly and infectious personality will be fondly remembered.
