Clara Violet (Vi) Coates was born on October 21, 1934 in Edmonton Alberta and passed away on April 20, 2026 at the age of 91.
Violet is survived by her children, Karen (Tony Lee) Coates, Katherine (Terry) Parsons; five grandchildren, Jon and Grant Belous, Ryan (Raelyn) Parsons, Kimberly Parsons, Rylee (Brandon) Martz; four great grandchildren, Zooey and Olivia Oberg, Mylah and Sadie Martz; her sister-in-law Dolores Coates; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
Violet was predeceased by her parents, Harold Busteed and Clara (William) Sellick; husband, Vernon Coates; son, Glen Coates; her mother and father-in-law, Frank and Lillian Coates; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Bill Osborne, Clinton Coates, Freda Coates and Gordon Coates.
A Memorial service will be held at the Killam Community Hall on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 11 am. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the service.
