Audrey Jannette Steinwand (nee Minchau)
November 30, 1943 – March 13, 2026
Audrey Jannette Steinwand passed away on March 13, 2026 at the age of 82. She was born November 30, 1943 to Arthur and Alma Minchau and was raised in the Bruce area where she attended Bruce School.
Following graduation, Audrey lived in Holden and worked as a telephone operator in Vegreville. She married Norbert Steinwand in October 1965, and together they made their home on the family farm near Ryley, Alberta where they raised their children, Robert Paul and Loretta Ruth.
Audrey was a strong and determined woman who took pride in raising her family and working alongside Norbert and managing the farm while he worked away. She worked many hours helping her father at the Bruce Museum and learned the value of preserving history. In later years she volunteered at the Holden Museum and occasionally the Ryley Museum where she educated the younger generation as this was a priority. Audrey cherished time with her family where she spent most of her days and faithfully shared the love of Jesus with those she met.
She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Alma Minchau, and her husband, Norbert Steinwand.
Audrey is lovingly remembered by her son Robert and his children Gillian (Tiernan) and Reise; and her daughter Loretta (Jon) and their children Kathleen (Wes) Samuel (Raylee) Issaac (Ashtyn) Step Children Brett (James) and Ashley (Dallas) ; great-grandchildren; Fynnely, Baylor, Cole, Quade, and Bailey; and numerous cousins and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 2:00 P.M., Bruce, Alberta with Interment at the Bruce Cemetery, Bruce, Alberta.
