Ryley collecting hygienic items in preparation for new school year

Ryley Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is taking a different approach to prepare kids for the up-coming school year, collecting hygiene products for kids aged six to 13.

“We consulted the school, and they are providing all traditional sup-plies such as pens, felt markers, notebooks, and paper. Because of the Clean Harbors donation, they can go fee free, which includes providing all regular classroom sup-plies,” said FCSS Director Mickey Wilson.

Among the items that Ryley FCSS is collecting includes new deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and feminine products, as well as new socks and underwear.

“We are also accepting cash donations that will enable us to reimburse families for needs such as running shoes and swim-suits. Cash donations over the amount of $20 are eligible for a tax receipt,” Wilson said.
